The Bards Are Cool

Welcome to The Bards web site and thank you for checking us out. We are 4 very close friends who have been playing music since the 60s. Since we were all born in the 80s, I wonder how we did that?

Over the years our members have performed with many of Cincinnati’s more popular bands including: The Six Pack, The Haymarket Riot, The Music Box, Paramount, Nickelodeon, The Remains, Wanderlust and The Weeds.
We’ve played about every type of venue you can think of including: playing before Cincinnati Reds games, playing at the opening of the Cincinnati Convention Center, playing various charity events, being the dinner cruise entertainment for BB Riverboats, entertaining the troops in Alaska and the Aleutian Islands through the USO, playing at The Taste Of Blue Ash, playing for the city of Evendale's Saturday night concert series, playing for St. Rita's Festival, playing for St. Savior's Festival, playing for St. John's Festival, playing for Maloney's Pub West & Maloney's Pub East, playing for Peg's Pub & Foley's Irish Pub, playing for the United States Governor’s Convention in Kennewick Washington, playing at Music Hall for company parties thrown by Carl Lindner, performing on local live TV broadcasts, performing the music for a French Bauer commercial etc. We also have played numerous company parties as well as private parties, wedding receptions, high school reunions, community festivals, the WEBN fireworks festivals and many more events too numerous to mention or remember.
Somewhere along the way we have performed music from the standards of the 30s, 40s, and 50s, to the rock and roll of the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80, and 90s. We’ve also covered jazz, country, R & B and disco.
Our goal is to be able to be able to play something for everyone. That's why our song list is so vast and extensive. This allows us to customize our performance for the crowd we're playing for at the moment. Decades of experience have shown us that a presentation of music that fits one crowd doesn't necessarily fit another. That's why we have learned to switch the musical mood on a dime if necessary.
As much as we'd like to we can't be all things to all people. If the only thing that will please you is ”rap” or “heavy metal”, we’re not the band for you. Not that we don’t appreciate the talent it takes to scratch a record in rhythm or turn our amplifiers all the way up and scream our lungs out.
Although we are song writers ourselves, we have performed songs by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, The Association, The Guess Who, The Kinks, The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Zombies, The Animals, The Dave Clark Five, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, The Doors, The Lovin’ Spoonful, Cream, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Isley Brothers, The Doobie Brothers, Foreigner, Styx, The Little River Band, Steely Dan, The Jefferson Airplane, The Alan Parsons Project, Grand Funk Railroad, The Eagles, The James Gang, Eric Clapton, The Byrds, The Critters, Billy Joel, The Buckinghams, Jimmy Buffet, Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, Yes, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, The Electric Light Orchestra, Stevie Wonder, Chicago, The Bee Gees, The Four Seasons, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Jackson Browne, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Deep Purple, Rod Stewart, Elton John, The Spinners, Queen, Bread, The Steve Miller Band, Hall And Oates, Bob Seger, Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Linda Ronstadt, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, Herman’s Hermits, Johnny Mathis, Charlie Rich, Randy Travis, Garth Brooks, Buck Owens, George Jones, Alabama, Les Paul & Mary Ford, The Mills Brothers, Loverboy, The Hollies, Boz Scaggs, Kenny Rogers, KC & The Sunshine Band, War, The Village People, The Ohio Players, Peter Frampton, The Commodores, Crosby, Stills, Nash And Young, Neil Young, James Taylor, Johnny Rivers, Loggins & Messina, The Buffalo Springfield, George Benson, Kansas, Eddie Money, Joe Walsh, Rick James, Anne Murray, Eddie Rabbitt, Crystal Gayle, Olivia Newton-John, Toto, Ambrosia, The Pointer Sisters, The Blues Brothers, The Spencer Davis Group, Bill Hayley & His Comets, Buddy Holly & The Crickets, Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, Supertramp, The Cars, Prince, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, John Cougar Mellencamp, Kool & The Gang, Christopher Cross, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, The Traveling Wilburys, Air Supply, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Pure Prairie League, Carole King, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Simon & Garfunkel, Johnny Lee, Bobby Vinton, Bobby Vee, Johnny Mathis, Roberta Flack, Jim Croce, Pat Benatar, The Police, Dolly Parton, Dan Fogelberg, Don McLean, Neil Diamond, Bill Withers, Grover Washington Jr., Lionel Richie, The Oak Ridge Boys, The Everly Brothers, Marty Balin, The Carpenters, Barry Manilow, The J.
